After completing her studies in fine and applied arts, Gwen le Gac went on to create stories - embroidered or as illustrations. Her work is published widely: with Thierry Magnier editions, Actes Sud Junior, le Seuil, Milan and l'École des loisirs.
With Maison Le Minor in Brittany,  she created Broderie29, a range of fine linens for the home. Inspired by local popular art as well as that from afar,  blending and fusion are present down to the very techniques she uses, which are themselves 'mixed', with 'thread' a constant in her work. Motifs and illustration at times merge in order to create an embroidered drawing. A kind of renaissance of tapestry, brought to life once more  by Maison Le Minor with the traditional technique of the guided-hand embroidery of the Bigouden region.
