The southern Finistère, a small corner of France is characterised by the scents of maritime pines and sea spray, and the intense blue tints of the Atlantic.
Earthenware has a long tradition here. For over seventeen years, Valérie Le Roux’s studio has been established in Concarneau. She is constantly inspired and stimulated by the surrounding beauty of this region and its artistic tradition.
The artist decorates by hand with a brush her multi-shaped ceramic pieces. Her elegant and refined designs are applied on bottles, cups, bowls and plates with bold colours, hues of greys, blues, greens, reds and oranges. She is drawn to the ocean, its fauna and flora, and fish and algae are a constant source of motifs for her.
She uses her patterns on many other media such as tiles, screen prints, printed, woven or embroidered fabrics.
She develops numerous tailor-made projects for frescoes, lights, and tableware for hotels and restaurants.
Brought together thanks to a common love for creating rare handmade artefacts from their respective workshops, Valérie Le Roux and LE MINOR have been collaborating on several collections for over fifteen years.
Valérie Le Roux’s designs are embroidered in the workshop of the Maison LE MINOR in Pont-l’Abbé and feature now on a colourful collection of woollen cloth cushions, plaids and linen tea-towels.
